Exhibition on the occasion of the residency in Siegen, Siegen, DE
Public space, Siegen
Susanne Kriemann is this year’s scholarship holder of the Artist in Residence Programme of the University of Siegen and the Museum für Gegenwartskunst Siegen. With her research project in Siegen, she takes a look at Monte Schlacko, a former industrial slag heap, in collaboration with scientists from the University of Siegen and the local community. Kriemann uses her photographs to explore the properties of plants that grow on the heavy metal-containing soil in the Monte Schlacko nature reserve and presents the works in installative arrangements in dialog with historical photographs in Siegen’s pedestrian zone.
